"Every child's nervous system tells a unique story. My role is to help translate that story into pathways for growth, regulation, and joy."

Bridgett Chowning, MS, OTR/L

About Me

Hi! I'm Bridgett—an occupational therapist, a mom, and someone who truly believes in the incredible power of the brain and body to heal, grow, and connect.

My Journey

I earned my master's in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Kentucky University in 2017 and completed my internship at Brighter Futures Therapy Center (BFTC)—where I've spent my entire career and proudly serve today. Over the years, I've had the privilege of walking alongside hundreds of families, supporting children with developmental delays, sensory processing challenges, autism, ADHD, motor delays, and emotional regulation needs.

What started as a career path has evolved into a true calling. I've discovered that when we address the nervous system at its foundation, we unlock incredible potential for learning, connection, and joy.

Specialized Training & Certifications

Primitive Reflex Integration

Certified through Sonia Story's Brain and Sensory Foundations program

Integrated Listening Systems (ILS)

Completed professional training and certification in multisensory therapy integrating music, movement, and cognitive exercises to support neuroplasticity and CNS regulation with Unyte Academy.

Rhythmic Movement Therapy

Trained in gentle, developmental movement patterns to help regulate the nervous system

My Approach

Therapy in my space is playful, purposeful, and personal. Every session is grounded in research but guided by your child's unique rhythm and needs. I create a space where families feel heard, supported, and empowered.

Whether we're rocking on the floor to activate brain pathways, using cutting-edge nervous system regulation tools, or practicing strategies to support sleep and learning, the goal is always the same: to help your child build a strong foundation for lifelong success.

Advancing Technologies I Use

I'm passionate about staying at the cutting edge of neurological regulation. I actively incorporate brain-based tools including:

Beyond the Clinic

As a mother myself, I understand the unique challenges and joys that come with parenting. This personal experience enhances my ability to connect with families and provide practical, empathetic support.

When I'm not at the clinic, you might find me continuing my education at the latest neuroscience conference, trying new regulation techniques on myself (I practice what I preach!), or spending time with my own family—constantly amazed by the incredible capacity for growth and connection that exists in all of us.

My Philosophy: I believe that movement is medicine, rhythm is healing, and every child has an innate capacity for growth when given the right support. By combining traditional occupational therapy with innovative nervous system interventions, I help children unlock their full potential.
